Lightspeed

How Lightspeed Systems turns public K-12 market signals into market intelligence. AI research agents, designed and deployed by Linkt, now handle the heavy lifting of Lightspeed's top-of-funnel district research.

01About Lightspeed Systems

Lightspeed Systems helps K-12 schools and districts create safer, more effective digital learning environments. As the company scaled its market footprint, the team saw an opportunity to sharpen how it gathered, organized, and acted on district-level intelligence.

To support that effort, Lightspeed partnered with Linkt to build a custom AI research system that turns scattered public signals into context its go-to-market teams can act on. The sooner Lightspeed knows a district is looking for help — an open RFP, a new safety initiative, a technology transition — the sooner it can reach out with solutions to the challenges they face.

02The challenge: valuable signals, buried in volume

The K-12 market generates an enormous amount of public information. For Lightspeed's sales and business development teams, the challenge was never a lack of it. It was the volume, the fragmentation, and the format.

Valuable insights were scattered across RFP boards with complex interfaces, school board meetings published as hours of YouTube video and public transcripts, district websites, press releases, and PDFs, and account history and market context living in separate internal systems.

No team, however strong, can track thousands of districts across all of those sources at once. The real challenge was coverage: consistently surfacing the right accounts, with the right context, at the right time.

03The solution: research agents built around the workflow

Rather than deploying a rigid, off-the-shelf tool, Linkt built a custom system on top of its AI research agent infrastructure, shaped around how Lightspeed's team actually works: from RFP tracking and enrichment to account research and market intelligence.

The premise was simple: the problem was never a need for more data. It was making the data easier to use. The agents continuously gather, filter, and summarize information from across the public K-12 landscape: procurement portals, board meeting transcripts, district announcements, and the open web.

RFP discovery and summarization: relevant procurement notices, surfaced and distilled into scannable summaries.

District and account research: context on district initiatives, procurement needs, and account activity.

Market signal updates: program initiatives, procurement activity, and other district developments.

Sales intelligence briefs: structured, ready-to-act summaries delivered directly into Salesforce, where the team already works.

04Refined through a continuous feedback loop

The system was not built once and handed off. Through a shared Slack channel, weekly updates, and direct input from the people using the outputs, Linkt kept tuning the agents: sharpening signal quality, cutting noise, and aligning the system more closely with how Lightspeed qualifies opportunities.

Over time, the agents converged on Lightspeed's qualification criteria, sales process, and go-to-market strategy: less like a static tool, more like a research function that keeps getting better.

05The result: less time searching, more time with schools

Before Linkt, research coverage had a natural ceiling: a function of hours in the day, not the team's ability. Today the agents run continuously in the background, and the team starts each day from a ready-made brief.

The team now spends less time searching and more time where it matters: in conversations with schools. The agents read the paperwork so people can focus on what districts actually need.

06Why Linkt

Generic AI tools and standard SaaS platforms are rarely built for the specific workflows, data sources, and sensitivities of K-12 education. Linkt's research agent infrastructure made a custom build fast, and its forward-deployed model made it fit: tailored to Lightspeed's sources, its priorities, and the way its team sells.

Lightspeed decided to embrace AI early to deliver more than ever before to our schools and students. We looked for partners who enabled us to move fast but also carefully. Data protection, student safety, and school trust are our top priorities. Linkt immediately understood this and have become a trusted partner this past year. I highly recommend the team.
